Similarities to Godfather

Subhash Nagre (Sarkar) .This character is based on Vito Corleone/Don Corleone from Godfather I.

Pushpa Subhash Nagre : This character is a loosely based on Carmela Corleone.

Vishnu Nagre is a hotheaded son of Sarkar. This character is a based on Fredo Corleone (in the fact that he was the brother who betrayed the family and that he is killed by his younger brother, similar to Fredo's storyline in Godfather II).

Shankar Nagre next Sarkar : This character is based on that of Michael Corleone.

Savatya : This character is very loosely based on that of Luca Brusi.

Silver Mani : This character is based on that of Hyman Roth.

Rasheed : This character is loosely based on that of Virgil Solozzo.

Swami Virendra : There are also parallels with Don Barzini.

Khan : This character is loosely based on Tom Hagen. While Tom Hagen alive in 2 parts of Godfather. Khan sacrifices his life for the survival of Shankar Nagre.

Chander : The character is loosely based on Tessio. Though Chander had Shankar assassinated via an assassin in the sequel.

Rape Victim's Father :  Bonasera approaches Don Corleone with a similar request.

Police Commissioner : His character has some parallels with the corrupt Police McCluskey, who was assassinated by Michael Corleone( assassination is in Godfather only ).

This character shows up with some confusions while seeking similarities between Sarkar and Godfather I. In The Godfather, Michael's girlfriend Kay Adams had some annoyance about the Corleone family. But in Sarkar, Shankar was enormously offended at Pooja's suspicions & remarks over his father. He finally broke up this relation, which the base character Michael Corleone managed to carry on.

Santino Corleone (hot tempered elder brother)

Carlo Rizzi (son-in-law of Don Corleone and traitor to the family).

"Connie" Corleone (sister of Michael) and 

Sandra Corleone (wife of Santino Corleone).
